Graphene is a proprietary ultrathin form of carbon in which the atoms are arranged in a flat nanoplatelet hexagon lattice with each layer being a single atom thick. The thinnest material in the world, graphene is 200 times stronger than steel and has 1,000 times the conductivity of silicon.

Our custom-tailored graphene solutions are designed to fit specific customer applications by varying the surface and edges, thickness and diameter of the graphene nanoplatelet layers to optimize specific properties, including electrical and thermal, mechanical, barrier and hydrophobic/hydrophilic properties, as well as electrical conductivity, dispersion qualities and mechanical strength.

Graphene Grades Available for Varying Applications

xGnP® Graphene Nanoplatelets are unique nanoparticles consisting of short stacks of graphene sheets having a platelet shape. XG Sciences proprietary graphene nanoplatelets come in four grades including Grade R, Grade H, Grade M and Grade C. Each grade contains particles with a similar average thickness and surface area.

xGnP Grade R

Grade R is available with average particle diameters of 7, 10 or 25 microns. It is suitable for applications requiring high electrical or thermal conductivity including:

xGnP Grade H

Grade H particles have an average thickness of approximately 15 nanometers and atypical surface area of 50 to 80 m2/g.

Grade H is available with average particle diameters of 5, 15 or 25 microns.

xGnP Grade M

Grade M particles appear as black granules. They have an average thickness of approximately 6 to 8 nanometers and a typical surface area of 120 to 150 m2 /g.

Grade M is available with average particle diameters of 5, 15 or 25 microns.

xGnP Grade C

Grade C particles are available in different grades that are designated by their approximate surface area.

Grade C particles typically consist of aggregates of sub-micron platelets that have a particle diameter of less than 2 microns and a typical particle thickness of a few nanometers, depending on the surface area.

Grade C particles can be ordered with average surface areas of 300, 500 and 750 m2/g.
